ANDRESS EAGLES EXPLODE FOR 70 POINTS IN DOMINANT WIN OVER RIVERSIDE
PREP1 Sports | October 18, 2026 | 📸 Photo Credit: James Thomas Moreno | @j.a.m.e.s_flicks The Andress Eagles delivered another emphatic performance Friday night, overwhelming the Riverside Rangers 70–14 on October 16 in a district matchup at Andress High School. Andress showcased its explosive offense, combining a prolific passing attack with a punishing ground game to secure its seventh consecutive victory and remain unbeaten at 7–0. The Eagles never trailed, built a 28–14 halftime lead and continued pulling away in the second half. Jamari Milton Leads the Offensive Explosion Quarterback Jamari Milton orchestrated the Eagles’ attack with a spectacular performance, throwing for 234 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. He also added a rushing touchdown, accounting for five scores in the victory. Milton’s ability to distribute the football and keep the offense moving made it a difficult night for the Riverside defense. His four touchdown passes marked his second consecutive game with at least four passing scores, underscoring the consistency of Andress’ passing attack. The Eagles were equally dangerous on the ground. Carmello “Mello” Jones rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown on just eight carries, helping Andress finish with an impressive 333 rushing yards—its highest single-game total of the season. With Milton directing the passing game and Jones powering the ground attack, Andress gave Riverside multiple problems to solve throughout the night. Eagles Keep Their Foot on the Gas Andress entered the contest already riding a strong stretch of performances, and Friday’s result reinforced its status as one of El Paso’s most dangerous offenses. The Eagles scored 70 points, their highest total of the season, while holding Riverside to just 14. The margin reflected Andress’ ability to turn offensive production into points and continue extending its advantage after halftime. Riverside entered the game after a six-game winning streak, but the Rangers struggled to keep pace with the Eagles’ relentless attack. The loss ended that streak and dropped Riverside to 6–2, while Andress improved to 7–0 overall and 1–0 in district play. A Statement as District Play Continues For Andress, this was more than another win. It was a statement performance to open district play, built on a balanced offense capable of striking through the air and controlling the ground game. Milton’s five total touchdowns and Jones’ 133-yard rushing effort highlighted an offense operating at a high level. With the Eagles still unbeaten, they will look to carry that momentum into their next matchup against Austin. Riverside will regroup before returning to action against Austin on October 30.
