If there was any question about the offensive firepower of the Americas Trail Blazers, Thursday night provided a pretty convincing answer.
The Trail Blazers put together an explosive performance at Student Activities Complex II, overpowering the Parkland Matadors 62-28 in the final game of the regular season.
It was an emphatic finish for an Americas program that found its rhythm down the stretch, winning three consecutive games to close out the 2026 campaign.
The 62-point performance continued an impressive offensive run for the Trail Blazers, who had scored 65 against Horizon and 46 against Bel Air in their two previous victories.
OFFENSE SETS THE TONE
Americas entered the matchup with plenty of momentum after back-to-back victories over Horizon and Bel Air. Rather than easing into the finale, the Trail Blazers kept the pressure on.
The offense continued to showcase its ability to generate big plays, put points on the board and keep opposing defenses under pressure.
A major part of that success has been the production of senior running back/defensive back Maurice Edwards, who entered the game as one of the area's most productive offensive weapons.
Edwards had already established himself as a major contributor, leading Americas in rushing and total touchdowns. His season production made him one of the players opposing defenses had to account for every Friday night.
Thursday's 62-point explosion was another example of the offensive potential within this Trail Blazers program.
A STRONG FINISH FOR THE TRAIL BLAZERS
The victory moves Americas to 5-5 overall, completing a regular season that featured its share of challenges but ultimately ended on a positive note.
Three consecutive victories to close the season provide a confidence boost heading into the offseason and give the program something to build upon.
For head coach Noe Robles and his staff, the finish demonstrates the importance of staying the course and continuing to develop a team throughout a demanding high school football season.
PARKLAND: BUILDING TOWARD THE NEXT CHAPTER
For the Parkland Matadors, the 2026 campaign closes with a difficult defeat.
Despite putting 28 points on the scoreboard, Parkland couldn't keep pace with Americas' offensive production.
The Matadors will now turn their attention toward the offseason, where development, preparation and continued growth will become the priorities.
Every season presents lessons, and how a program responds to adversity often determines what comes next.
THE FINAL WORD
Americas finishes the 2026 regular season with three straight victories and a statement offensive performance.
Scoring 62 points in a season finale isn't something that happens by accident. It takes execution, playmaking and contributions across the roster.
The Trail Blazers found their offensive rhythm at the right time, and Thursday night was a fitting way to close out the regular season.
62 points. Three straight victories. A strong finish for the Trail Blazers.
