Ysleta dominates from start to finish at Baty-Simmang Stadium, improving to 5-1 on the season

The Ysleta Indians are heading into district play with plenty of momentum.
Ysleta traveled to Baty-Simmang Stadium Friday night and put together a convincing **35-7 victory over the Bowie Bears, improving to 5-1 on the 2026 season. The Indians have now won 15 of their last 17 games dating back to last season.
It was another statement performance from an Ysleta program that has continued to establish itself as one of El Paso's most dangerous teams.
INDIANS TAKE CONTROL
From the opening whistle, Ysleta controlled the night on both sides of the football.
The Indians' offense found the end zone **five times**, while the defense limited Bowie to just seven points in the 28-point victory.
The win also gave Ysleta its largest margin of victory of the 2026 season to that point β a 28-point differential.
After opening the season with wins over Big Spring, Burges and Fort Stockton, Ysleta suffered its only loss of the season in a wild 79-47 shootout against Hanks on Sept. 18.
The Indians responded exactly the way a veteran program wants to respond.
First came a 49-28 win over Mountain View.
Then came Friday night's 35-7 demolition of Bowie.
That's back-to-back victories by a combined 84-35.
πΎ BOWIE BATTLES, BUT INDIANS TOO MUCH
Bowie entered the matchup searching for its first win of the season, but Ysleta's physicality and offensive production proved too much.
The loss dropped the Bears to 0-6 and marked their ninth consecutive home loss dating back to last season.
Despite the result, Bowie now gets an extended break before returning to the field against Clint on October 16.
π₯ DISTRICT PLAY AWAITS
The biggest takeaway for Ysleta?
The Indians are entering the most important stretch of their season playing their best football.
Ysleta moves to **5-1**, with its only blemish coming against Hanks. Now the schedule gets serious.
The Indians open District 1-4A Division I play next Friday, October 9, when they travel to face the **Riverside Rangers** at 7 p.m.
And that's where the real measuring stick begins.
The Indians have taken care of business outside of district play. Now they get their opportunity to make their mark when the games start carrying district consequences.
