On Friday night, September 25, Andress traveled to Burges and delivered another complete performance, rolling past the Mustangs 42-3 to remain unbeaten at 5-0 on the young 2026 season. Note: The verified game date is September 25, rather than September 15. A FAST START The Eagles wasted little time establishing control. Andress jumped out to a 21-0 advantage after the opening quarter, putting Burges in a difficult position from the start. The Mustangs managed a field goal in the second quarter, but Andress answered with another 21 points in the third quarter before shutting out Burges in the fourth. The final numbers told the story of an Andress offense that controlled the line of scrimmage. The Eagles finished with 310 rushing yards, averaging an impressive 11.5 yards per carry as a team. GUZMAN LEADS THE GROUND GAME Once again, Julian Guzman Jr. was at the center of the Eagles' offensive attack. The junior running back exploded for 170 yards and three touchdowns on just 13 carries, including a 61-yard touchdown run. Guzman's performance continued what has already been a standout season. Through five games, he leads Andress with 11 total touchdowns and is averaging 120.2 rushing yards per game. Quarterback Jamari Milton added 39 rushing yards, while Andress finished the night with 310 yards on the ground. Through the air, Milton completed 5 of 12 passes for 72 yards and a touchdown. Aavant Clayton Jr. contributed 54 rushing yards and also recorded 52 receiving yards, while Brandon Santillan scored a touchdown. FIVE GAMES, FIVE WINS The victory pushed Andress to 5-0, following wins over Centennial, Americas, Franklin and Chapin. The Eagles have now scored 201 points through five games while allowing 130. More importantly, the Eagles continue to show different ways to win. They survived a wild 57-55 shootout against Americas, edged Franklin 20-17, defeated Chapin 38-21, and then put together their most decisive victory of the season against Burges. For Burges, the loss dropped the Mustangs to 1-4 and extended their current losing streak to four games. WHAT'S NEXT Andress now turns its attention to Irvin, with the Eagles scheduled to meet the Rockets at 7 p.m. Friday, October 2. Irvin enters the matchup at 2-3. After five weeks, Andress has established itself as one of the area's unbeaten teams — and with a powerful rushing attack, playmakers like Guzman and Clayton, and a defense capable of keeping opponents off the scoreboard, the Eagles are entering district play with plenty of momentum.
